It's British Flowers Week

I'm passionate about using British seasonal flowers and foliage wherever possible - you only need to smell an English garden rose, sweet pea or honeysuckle to know why!

For the most vibrant colour and scent, interesting variety and changes in flowers every single week, they are a joy to work with.

But better yet, British blooms are grown right here and support a growing band of local flower farmers - something that is making a resurgence in the UK; they incur far fewer travel miles so they are better for the environment, and they can be picked one day and in a bouquet the next, making them fresher and far longer lasting.

So why wouldn't you buy British if you had the choice? Surely lupins beat lisanthus every day of the week...

Look out for events and activities going on across the UK all week, from British Flowers inspired cocktails at River Cottage in Winchester, courtesy of the fabulous Jay Archer, to entirely British flowers at the Dorchester Hotel in London, and British bouquets to order from Rebel Rebel - and of course US!
